Galleries are a great way to create a themed collection of up to 500 photos or videos shared by other Flickr members! You can then share your gallery with others through email or social media. People can also view the galleries you’ve created from your profile page under the “Galleries” tab.
Create and add to a gallery
From the gallery tab
- Hover over You | select Galleries.
- Select New Gallery.
- Enter the gallery name & description | select Create.
From a photo page
- Select another member's photo or video that you want to add.
- Below the image, select Add to gallery.
- Search for a gallery or select Create a new gallery and fill in a title.
- Select the gallery.
- Select Done.
Items can also be added to a Gallery by clicking on the + icon that can be seen in the bottom right corner of the photo page. The + icon is also visible when viewing photos in your Activity Feed.
Note:
- It is not possible to add your own items to a Gallery. Albums and Collections are the best way to create sets of your own content.
- Galleries can only contain content marked as safe. Learn more about Safety Levels here.
- Galleries can only be created on your desktop or mobile web browser, not the Flickr app.
Share a gallery
- Hover over You | select Galleries.
- Select the gallery you want to share.
- Select Share | select your preferred method (share on social media, share with a link, embed, or email)
Delete a gallery
- Hover over You | select Galleries.
- Select the gallery you want to delete.
- Select Edit.
- Select Delete Gallery.
- Select OK.
How do I prevent a Flickr member from adding one of my photos to a gallery?
You can set your gallery preferences in your settings. If you don’t want Flickr members to add your content to their galleries, you can turn the setting off.
Galleries vs. Groups
It is not possible to add your own content to a gallery. Groups, on the other hand, allow you to add your own content based on a theme or concept. Content from other members has to be invited to a group, or you can add your own content to the group photo pool. For more information on how groups work, please see here.
