The multi-click zoom feature lets you zoom in on a photo (sometimes more than once) to see details up close with greater clarity. With Pro members now able to upload 6K photos, this feature helps you fully appreciate those extra-high-resolution images.
How it works
- Depending on the photo’s resolution, you may be able to zoom in once, twice, or not at all.
- If the default viewing size is close to the photo’s full size, a single click will take you straight to full size.
- If the difference is larger, Flickr will add a middle step so you can zoom in twice.
- Once you’ve zoomed in as far as possible, the next click will return you to the default view.

Why can’t I zoom in on every photo?
- Every photo has a set resolution (the number of pixels it contains). If a photo is already displayed at its full resolution, you won’t be able to zoom further.
- Higher-resolution photos allow for more zoom steps:
- Medium resolution → one zoom step to full size.
- Very high resolution → two zoom steps for even closer detail.
- On high-resolution displays (like Retina screens), even large photos may appear at full size automatically, so multi-click zoom may not be available.
