When you upload a photo to Flickr, you are the rightful owner of the content.
Copyright licenses are legal agreements that define the specific terms under which a copyrighted work can be used by someone other than the original creator or copyright owner.
Licenses supported by Flickr
Notes & Tips
- Changing the license does not affect how Flickr stores or displays your photo. It only governs how others are allowed to reuse it.
- You can change the license as often as you like, but downloaded content always retains the license assigned to it, even if the license is changed on Flickr.
Licenses are publicly viewable and legally binding. Choose carefully, especially with Creative Commons or Public Domain options.
Update licensing
Note: Existing Creative Commons 2.0 licenses will remain unchanged unless you update them. All new CC licenses are version 4.0
