Troubleshooting Auto-Uploadr Issues (Flickr App)

*The Auto-Uploadr feature is available for Flickr Pro accounts only.

Know Before You Start Troubleshooting

Video Processing Takes Time

  • If you see "Uploadr Processing," your videos are being optimized for viewing.
  • Videos can take 30 minutes to an hour to process depending on file size - similar to uploading hundreds of photos at once.
  • Keep your app open during this time for faster processing.

Video Requirements

  • Maximum file size: 1GB
  • Not available on accounts with Moderate or Restricted safety levels.

What Gets Uploaded

  • Only new, unique items are backed up automatically.
  • Only items in your device's default photo/video folder.
  • Transferring photos from an old device to a new one may create duplicates that the Uploadr treats as new items.

Troubleshooting Steps

Try each step in order and check if your issue is resolved before moving to the next one.

Check File Format & Size

Verify your files meet our upload requirements: Flickr upload requirements

Note: HEIC/HEIF formats are not currently supported.

  • iOS users: Auto-Uploadr automatically converts these to JPG, which increases processing time.
  • Android users: You'll need to convert manually before upload. For better efficiency, disable HEIC/HEIF in your device camera settings.
Enable App Permissions  Ensure Flickr can access your photos and videos: Enable permissions for the Flickr App
Clear the App Cache  Instructions here: Clear your cache
Update the Flickr App  We regularly push fixes through app updates. Check your device's app store for the latest version.
Use a Stable Internet Connection Large files need stable connections to upload successfully. Avoid switching between WiFi and cellular data during uploads.
Keep the App Active  Open and interact with the Flickr app for a few minutes daily to trigger Auto-Uploadr. Background apps need regular interaction to stay active.
