What is SafeSearch?
SafeSearch is a feature that allows you to manage the Safety Level of content visible to you on Flickr. Safety Levels allow members who post photos on Flickr to let others know that their content might contain nudity, sexual themes, or graphic imagery.
With SafeSearch, you can curate your Flickr experience by only viewing content with the Safety Levels that you’re comfortable with, including in search results or when you're viewing Flickr-hosted content on other sites.
Levels of SafeSearch
SafeSearch OnWith this option, you will only see photos that are marked as Safe. |
This Safety Level applies to content that is acceptable to a global, public audience. Think of what would be appropriate for public viewing in any setting. Content marked as safe should not include any explicit or suggested mature content (sexual, violent, graphic etc).
|
SafeSearch Moderate
|
The Moderate Safety Level applies to content that may be unacceptable to some audiences. Think of content that is appropriate for mature audiences, but not graphic or explicit. This can include partial nudity or sexually suggestive content. |
SafeSearch OffWith this option, you will see photos from all three Safety Levels: Safe, Moderate, and Restricted.
|
The Restricted Safety Level applies to content that must be restricted to limited audiences only. Think of content that is only appropriate for mature audiences because of its graphic or explicit nature. This includes full-frontal nudity, sexual acts, gore and graphic violence, and other adult themes. Note: If your login ID is based in Germany or Romania, you’ll only be able to view Safe and Moderate content based on your local Terms. This means you won’t be able to turn SafeSearch off. |
You can update the SafeSearch level of your account here or change this setting on each search you perform on Flickr via the Advanced Search page.
