What is SafeSearch?
SafeSearch is a feature that allows you to control what content will be visible to you on Flickr. While using SafeSearch, you will only be able to see photos set as Safe.
This feature is enabled for all members by default, but you can update your SafeSearch preferences here.
Note: If your login ID is based in Singapore, Hong Kong, India, Korea, or is with Maktoob.com, you'll only be able to view safe content based on your local Terms. This means you won’t be able to turn SafeSearch off.
If your login ID is based in Germany or Romania, you are not able to view restricted content due to your local Terms.
Levels of SafeSearch
- If you're not signed in to Flickr, SafeSearch is always on.
- If you're signed in and under 18, you can select SafeSearch on, or choose to see Moderate content.
- If you're signed in and over 18, you can select SafeSearch on, choose to see only Safe or Moderate content, or all content which includes Restricted.
You can set a default SafeSearch level that you'd like for your account, or change this setting depending on each search via the Advanced Search page.
SafeSearch filters also apply when you're viewing Flickr-hosted content on other sites.
