Flickr commercial use policy

Only our Pro members are permitted to engage in commercial activity in their Flickr accounts or otherwise monetize their posts. If you're not a Pro member and you use Flickr for commercial activity, your account will be subject to suspension.

Approved Commercial Activity (Pro Members Only) 

  • Links in photo descriptions, comments, group posts, or FlickrMail to commercial websites, including:
    • Shopping carts
    • Checkout pages
    • Pricing pages
    • Subscription pages
    • Link aggregator pages (ex. Linktree) linking to shopping carts, checkout pages, pricing pages, subscription pages, etc;
  • Pricing or other commercial information for specific products in photos or photo descriptions.
  • Prompts to purchase products or services in photos, photo descriptions, profile descriptions, comments, group posts, or FlickrMail.
  • Accounts primarily consisting of promotional or sponsored content, or affiliate links.

Prohibited Commercial Activity

There are some types of commercial activity or content that are prohibited, even for Pro members. This includes:

  • Engaging in link spamming or SEO abuse.
  • Engaging in the illegal sale of products or services, or selling or promoting illegal or regulated products and services.
