Sexualizing ordinary photos without the subjects’ consent

As part of maintaining an environment where Flickr users can create meaningful and safe experiences, we simply do not tolerate sexualizing others without their consent on Flickr.

This includes sexualizing ordinary photos without the subjects’ consent on Flickr.

Ordinary photos are non-sexual Safe posts, in your or other members’ accounts, depicting subjects in everyday settings. Sexualizing this type of content diverts from the images’ original context in a degrading, exploitative manner that constitutes non-consensual sexualization. This form of harassment is prohibited in all circumstances, regardless of how it shows up in Flickr accounts.

Sexualizing ordinary photos may take a number of forms:

In posts, descriptions, tags, or comments

Adding sexually explicit descriptions, tags, or overlaid text to ordinary photos.

In groups creations or galleries

  • Creating groups or galleries for the explicit purpose of sexualizing ordinary photos, or using sexually explicit names and group descriptions for collections of ordinary photos;
  • Creating groups or galleries using ordinary photos that focus on specific anatomical features, body parts, or physical measurements.

In group submissions

Submitting ordinary photos to sexually suggestive or explicit groups.

In posting or favoriting activity

Posting or favoriting ordinary photos in a way that indicates a pattern of fetishization (e.g. body part or type, posture, attire, etc…)

This behavior is not permitted anywhere on Flickr, including public or private posts, comments, tags, FlickrMail messages, profile descriptions, groups, galleries, or favorites.

If we identify content or activity in your account that does not comply with this policy, we will reach out to both your FlickrMail inbox and the email address associated with your account. Our messages will include details about steps you can take to address the issue.

Egregious or account-wide violations of this policy may result in immediate account termination. We may also terminate the accounts of members who repeatedly violate this policy or refuse to address non-compliant content.
