The rules of Flickr

Term of Service, Guidelines & Safety Requirements

To maintain compliance with the Community Guidelines, members are responsible for moderating their own Flickr content. More information about the safety requirements can be found here.

Prohibited Content

We strive to make Flickr the safest community for photography enthusiasts. Our goal is to maintain an environment where Flickr users can create meaningful and safe experiences.

In order to do this, we’ve compiled a list of all things prohibited on our platform. Below you can find subjects we have a zero-tolerance policy for: 

  • Videos containing full frontal nudity or sexually explicit conduct.
  • Bestiality or promotion of bestiality.
  • Blackmail.
  • Child abuse.
  • Child sexual abuse and exploitation.
  • Drugs.
  • Exposure (Non-consensual intimate images), including AI-generated imagery.
  • Hate speech.
  • Sexual violence or promotion of sexual violation (rape, sexual assault, molestation).
  • Incest or promotion of incest.
  • Impersonation.
  • Nazi content.
  • Necrophilia.
  • Personally identifiable information (IDs, passports, addresses, etc).
  • Urolagnia or coprophilia.
  • Screenshots of private conversations.
  • Screenshots of webcam footage.
  • Sectarianism.
  • Commercial sexual services, such as prostitution and escort services.;
  • Sextortion:
    • Threatening or stating an intent to share intimate imagery with or without consent.
    • Solicitation of demands, bribes, or blackmail for sexual content and services.
    • Exposure or requests for exposure of sexual content.
    • Soliciting intimate imagery to share without consent.
  • Spam.
  • Terrorism.
  • Tribute imagery: Any image depicting someone’s likeness being used as part of sexual gratification or in association with sexual fluids.
  • Voyeurism: Any image taken of someone without their knowledge or consent for the purpose of sexualization. Also known as creepshots, or upskirt.
  • Public masturbation or non-consensual public exhibitionism.

If any of the content mentioned above is found on your account, your account will be terminated and we will not be providing any content that was previously uploaded. 

 

Child Nudity Policy

Child nudity posted with a privacy setting of Public is not permitted on Flickr. Wholesome content featuring the unclothed pubic or buttocks area is allowed provided it is not sexualizing or exploitative in any way, and must be posted with privacy settings of Friends & Family or Private only.

Flickr has a zero tolerance policy regarding harmful content involving minors, regardless of privacy or safety settings. We aggressively remove and report sexually suggestive, abusive, or exploitative content involving minors. More information can be found here.

 

Age Requirements

If you're under the age of 18 you cannot:

  • Make your profile public in Flickr
  • View restricted or moderate content
  • Join 18+ groups

If you're under the age of 16 you cannot:

  • Create a Flickr account
  • Purchase premium services

You can still browse and view images on Flickr without creating an account. However, depending on your location and local Terms (updated), content filters may prevent you from accessing some photos or groups.


Staying within the letter and spirit of these Terms & Guidelines is the best way to maintain a safe and enjoyable experience for you and other members of the Flickr community.
