Find, join, or leave a Flickr Group

Groups on Flickr are a great way to connect with others who share your interests, view inspiring images, and participate in discussions. Whether you’re searching for new communities, joining one, or decluttering your list by leaving, here’s how to do it.

Find a group

You can discover groups in a few different ways:

  • Browsing the What’s New tab (web only)
  • Searching for groups by name or topic
  • Receiving a direct link or invite
  • Discovering them through Explore or another member’s activity
On WebOn the App 

Select Explore | What’s New to see trending groups.
 

OR 
 

  1. Select the Search bar at the top of the page.
  2. Enter keywords (e.g., “Cats” or “Nature”).
  3. Select Search groups
  1. Select the Search icon.
  2. Select the Search bar.
  3. Enter keywords (e.g., “Cats” or “Nature”).
  4. Select Groups above your search results.

Join a group

Once you’ve found a group you’d like to join, follow the steps below.

On WebIn the App 

Find a group from the search results | Select Join Group.

OR
 

Select Join Group in the group Cover Photo

  1. Select a group.
  2. Select Join or Join Group in the group Cover Photo

Note: If you don’t see the Join option, the group may be invitation-only or closed to new members.

Leave a Flickr group

If you decide you no longer want to be part of a group, you can leave it at any time.

On WebOn the App 
  1. Hover over You | Select Groups
  2. Select the group you want to leave.
  3. Hover over Joined | Select Leave.
  4. Optional: check box to remove your photos from the group.
  5. Select Leave this group
  1. Select the Profile icon | Select Groups
  2. Select the group you want to leave.
  3. Select the More options menu (three dots)
  4. Select Leave.
