Promote someone to be an admin or moderator for your Flickr group (web only)

Strong groups are built on teamwork—promote reliable members to help you manage and grow your community.

Promote group members

  1. Go to a group you administer.
  2. Select Administration.
  3. Under Administration, Select Manage your Members.
  4. Select Moderators or Members
  5. Click Promote next to the member's name.
  6. Select Admin or Moderator from the drop-down menu.
  7. Select OK.

Important! 

Before promoting, please be remember:

  • Admins have full control of a group but cannot remove or demote other admins. Limit the number of admins and only promote those you fully trust.
  • If an admin leaves a group and there are no other admins, admin rights will automatically transfer to the longest-serving group member.

Promoted members do not receive a notification. Be sure to let them know directly.
