Flickr group admins and moderators have tools to manage the group, its content, and its members. This article outlines duties, permissions, and administration options.
Shared admin & moderator actions
Admin actions only
Approve/ deny photos photo submissions to groups.
Remove or ban members.
Moderate group discussions.
Create up to 20 Sticky Topics, by selecting Make Topic Sticky on a discussion.
Moderator roles: Give "admin," "moderator" & "member" more descriptive names that best fit the group.
Only admins can access group administration options from the Administration tab at the top of the group page. These include sending group messages, updating the group’s appearance, adjusting settings like privacy, keywords, and moderator roles, and managing members.
Send or delete a group blast
This option can be used when you want to send a message to all members in the group.
While viewing the Overview tab, Select the Pencil icon on the right.
Type your message.
Select Done.
To delete a group blast you’ve created, select the trash can icon. The date will show the last time the message was edited.
Update the group icon
Hover over the group's icon | select the Edit icon.
Choose a Safe & Public image from the pool | choose Select.
Optionally, drag to adjust the image position
Select Save.
Update the group's cover photo
Select the 3-dot menu next to the group's name | select Change cover photo.
Choose a Safe & Public image from the pool | choose Select.
Optionally, drag to adjust the image position
Select Save.
Make a public Flickr group private
Public Flickr groups can be found by anyone on Flickr and are listed on members' pages, while private Flickr groups aren't listed anywhere on the site and are invite-only. If you’d like more privacy, a group admin can change a public group to private.
Are you sure? If you make a group private, you cannot switch it back to public.
