Change your name on Flickr

Your name helps others recognize you on Flickr. You can update both your real name and display name to customize how you appear to the community.

Real name

  • Displayed in larger text across the site.
  • Appears on your profile page.
  • Shows on your photos.
  • Visible when you comment on others' content.
  • For business accounts: Use your organization or brand name here.

Display name (username)

  • Shown in smaller text under your Real Name.
  • Appears on discussion posts.
  • Visible in various other areas of the site.
  • Choose something memorable and easy to read.

Change your name(s) on Flickr

  1. Hover over You | select About.
  2. Select the three-dot menu next to your name.
  3. Select Edit profile info.
  4. Select Edit next to your Real name or Username.
  5. Enter your desired name(s).
  6. Select Done to save your changes.

  1. Tap on the Profile icon.
  2. Tap Edit profile.
  3. Tap either Real name or Username
  4. Enter name | tap Save.

The name is visible publicly across Flickr and anywhere photos are shared.

Notes

  • If the name you enter isn’t accepted, it’s likely already in use by another Flickr account, active or deleted. Try a variation or add something unique to make it yours.
  • Your real name and display name are not your login credentials. You’ll still need to use your email address and password to sign in to Flickr.
